Confidentiality:

All counselling sessions are treated with utmost confidentiality. Information shared during our sessions is strictly between us. However, if there is a disclosure that raises concerns about harm to yourself or others, potential money laundering, or involvement in terrorism, I am obligated to discuss these concerns with you and may involve relevant authorities. I prioritise open communication and will endeavour to inform you before taking any action.

Data Protection:

Your identity and personal details are safeguarded in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2019.

Personal Information Collection:

I may collect various personal details, including name, gender, age, contact information, family history, occupation, and relevant medical information. This information is securely stored and treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Storage of Personal Information:

Paper documents are converted to electronic format, password-protected, and then securely shredded. Client notes are coded and separated from personal information. Contact information is stored on a password-protected smartphone, and emails are stored in my email account for initial contact purposes.

Possible Documents Held:

Contract/Agreement, Assessment Record, brief session notes, Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, client code, contact name, telephone, and email.

Processing/Sharing of Personal Information:

I may share your information during consultations with a qualified therapist for professional development purposes. In emergencies, your contact information may be shared with appropriate healthcare services. Legal obligations may require disclosure in certain situations.

Erasing Your Information:

Electronic correspondence is deleted within one month of our sessions concluding. Other information is retained for up to six years for reference purposes. After this period, all information will be deleted.

Your Rights:

You have the right to be informed about the information I hold, access the information, rectify inaccuracies, withdraw consent, and request erasure (subject to legal considerations).
